[01/01/24] Mind-Body Monday: How To MANIFEST Anything You  Want In 2024

Let’s Make This a Year We Are Proud of!

Why do you struggle with change? Why do you struggle with manifestation of what you want?

Hello my loves, today I am going to cover a few thoughts.

  1. Understanding how you are motivated

  2. Understanding why you have struggled

  3. Understanding tools of manifestation

So, welcome back and welcome to a brand new year of our amazing lives!

As some of you know, I have not taught live since October due to a number of dramatic changes in my life. 2023 was a powerful year of transformation, transition and change for me. Was it one for you as well?

How are you feeling about the life you created last year? What do you want to create this year? Let me know in the comments!

Today I am not going to be talking about New Year's Resolutions as we typically refer to them. It’s not as important to me to discuss the actions you want to take, but rather to focus instead on how you would like to “feel” in this coming year?  I want to share some of the best tools I have to help you understand how You are motivated to change and how You can manifest in perhaps a new way than you have learned before.

So First, let’s talk about motivation. In order to motivate yourself effectively, I think you need to know if you are a carrot or stick person, lol. By that I mean do you manifest change for yourself through “pleasure-seeking” or “punishment avoidance”?

Pleasure-seeking is like a donkey with a carrot on a stick dangling in front of it. Do you move forward and change because you want something new? Will that wanting and desire be enough to move you through your resistance?

Or are you motivated by “punishment avoidance"? Do you need a proverbial stick to the flank to get you walking forward down an unfamiliar path?

Let me give you examples. Let’s say you want to “lose weight and get fit” the most common New Year's resolution. Are you motivated by a new pair of jeans you want to fit in, or an imagined healthier you? Or are you motivated by not wanting to feel uncomfortable in your current jeans, or not wanting to feel tired all the time?

Understanding your motivational type helps you discover ways to make lasting changes based on how Your system operates, which might be different than what is being spoken around you or what you feel “should” be a good motivation for you.

Let’s say you want to change your eating patterns. Are you motivated by trying new healthier recipes, or … by wanting to not feel tired or sick to your stomach after you eat?

To discover this, you want to think about this: Those big changes that you have made throughout your life…Did you finally make them because you wanted something new or because you got tired of feeling miserable over what you had?

Our desire to change has to be greater than our resistance to it, in order for it to be long-lasting - beyond a day or week or even a month. This is why so many resolutions often fade or fail. We have not overcome our resistance to changes we need to make.

Everyone seeks comfort, even if what is most comfortable is unhealthy, or goes against what we think we want. We generally would rather not have to change because it is scary, and it leads us down a path of the unknown. We also tend to have little faith about our ability to sustain something new. In essence, we don’t trust in ourselves, and this lack of faith or trust prevents us from even trying. We also might make up painful narratives about how difficult and uncomfortable these changes will be.

In order to be truly successful with anything you must acknowledge and accept that in the beginning at least, it’s likely going to feel hard or even threatening, and that’s all you have to do. Just tell your system that you hear it. You get that you have resistance and you love yourself deeply and completely despite it. Then figure out your motivating style and let it pull or push you to what you deeply love. Every change you have ever been successful at and proud of, has been beyond your comfort zone.

Lastly, I want to talk a little bit about some of the challenges that we all struggle with. That is that we tend to focus on what we already have or have already tried or done, then that which we desire. By this I mean if you want to focus on more abundance, then what normally happens is you think first about everything you lack. Every way in which your life feels as if it is not abundant or supportive.

It’s like wanting to lose weight and thinking about how out of shape you are. This gum has already been chewed as they say. This is yesterday. Or since it’s the first of the new year, this is last year's news. We must begin by stopping focusing on everything we don’t want in our life, and instead focus on what we desire.

When you do this it is important that you don’t use negative language. You don’t want to say to yourself or someone else.. I don’t want to be poor, or overweight, or in this bad relationship. Because the “don’t” or “no” is the lesser energy to what is pre-existing, so it is lost in the manifestation, and you are calling more of what you don’t want, rather than the lack of it.

The way to increase your ability to call to you things that you want, is to focus on those things with your thoughts, not the absence of them.

Then talk about what you want without complaining about what you don't have.

Then act as if it is assured that it will occur. Do that which makes you feel closer to your goals. In regards to “acting” as if, think of the phrase: “what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?” Do those things!

Also a side thought.. Don’t worry about jinxing something by thinking or talking about it. You need to build the energy in your manifestation tank by putting more thoughts of what you want into it until those positive thoughts exceed those thoughts of lack.

Do you want a better job? Feel into the experience of having it. What would that be like? What about a better body? A better partner? More money?  What would that be like? Think and feel about it as often as possible. Dream about it, write about it, make a collage, journal, hang up inspirational images or quotes. Create a New Years Bagua or Manifestation Map filled with your desires for this new year.

Each time you feel your mind wanting to take control and pull you back into the past and lack, remind yourself of your successes and refocus on your new dreams. Eventually, the energy of what you desire will be so much stronger than what you fear, you can’t help but pull it towards you.

I will close with insights from some of my favorite teachers:

The scientific teaching of Joe Dispenza would say, “When you're truly focused on an intention for some future outcome if you can make the inner thought more real than the outer environment during the process, the brain won’t know the difference between the two. Then your body, as the unconscious mind, will begin to experience the new future event in the present moment. You’ll signal new genes, in new ways, to prepare for this imagined future event.”

The thought-work of Ekhart Tolle would add, “keep focusing on the feeling of your inner body. Do not start to over-think about it. The more attention you give [the positive feelings of having what you want] the clearer and stronger this feeling will become. It will feel as if every cell is becoming more alive.”

The spiritual teaching of Abraham Hicks would say, “Do not write your story like a factual documentary, weighing all the pros and cons of your experience, but instead tell the uplifting, fanciful, magical story of the wonder of your own life and watch what happens. It will feel like magic as your life begins to transform right before your eyes, but it is not by magic. It is by the power of the Law of the Universe and your deliberate alignment with those Laws.”:)

A final thought from me… How do I manifest? I try not to give any thought to what I don’t want. Like ever. I swipe left on them and refuse to think about any outcome that doesn’t serve my desires. If the worst should happen, then that will be soon enough to worry. And since it won’t then I am paving the way for my joy!
